Hotel Papageno Vienna
I needed a place to stay in Vienna this weekend. I was holding a reservation at the Le Meridien but after a Suite Night Award award didn’t get processed I thought better of it and cancelled just before cancellation deadline. I ended up not too far away and a relatively affordable three star Hotel Papageno.
The hotel is on Wiedner Hauptstraße not far from the Secession Building a couple stops from the State Opera and all the other major attractions. There is a tram stop a few metres away outside and the closest U1 stop is a few minutes away. The whole area is full of hotels, mostly 4 or 5 star so this makes for quite an affordable place if you just want a place to stay.
Booked a single room through I think their own website, which was significantly cheaper than all the standard OTAs. Breakfast is a few euro extra, depending what you want – I’d rather just go to a cafe personally. But they did offer free cake and coffee in the afternoon – fika!
The room itself is quite a few floors up so fortunately a perfectly working elevator here. Place is clean and well furnished. Empty minibar you can restock from reception at only mildly inflated prices.
